Background Information for Applications
This background information is intended to help you to compile and to forward your application for a job in GEA Group.
Have detailed look on the jobs posted in our job exchange first. If no job of interest to you is advertised you may at any time send us an unsolicited application. You may forward your application by ordinary mail or by email. To allow us a review of your application, it must of course be complete and contain the information needed by us for an evaluation. The following documents should be included:
- A covering letter in which you specify the location and the organizational unit for which you would like to work and describe why you are applying with us and why you are the right candidate for us; you should not forget that the covering letter creates the first impression and should make us curious to read on
- A complete curriculum vitae and an up-to-date photograph of you
- Relevant school and university certificates, references from previous employers and other documents

Our Recruitment and Selection Process
After you have submitted your application you might be interested in the further proceedings. The human resources unit and the organizational unit responsible for the vacancy will first examine your application in detail and check it against our requirements. If your written application has aroused our interest, we will invite you for an interview. The exact selection process depends on the group of applicants you belong to.
Applicants for an apprenticeship
Applicants for an apprenticeship will first be invited to a general test. Here, we would like to examine for example your mathematic skills and your logical thinking. If you are above average, we will subsequently invite you for an interview.
Students
Students who apply for an internship or want to write their thesis with our support will be asked to meet representatives of our human resources unit and the unit responsible for the internship.
Graduates and Professionals
We use a multi-stage selection process for graduates and professionals. This process will include two or three interviews with representatives of our human resources unit and the organizational unit responsible for the job. These interviews are intended to show whether your personality and your expertise will be contributional to our organization.
