New generation of hygienic, self-priming centrifugal pumps
By combining the existing GEA Tuchenhagen®-VARIFLOW TP series with a screw rotor, a new generation of hygienic self-priming centrifugal pumps has been created: the GEA Tuchenhagen®-VARIFLOW TPS series.
The hygienic self-priming TPS series is based on the normal priming TP series of centrifugal pumps. A screw rotor is fitted upstream of the suction side of the TPS series. The rotor is simply screwed onto the pump shaft in place of the impeller nut. The rotor housing is welded eccentrically to the pump cover and ends in the pump’s horizontal suction connection.
The new GEA Tuchenhagen®-VARIFLOW TPS series conveys products containing a large amount of gas. It is characterized by a low sound power level, high efficiency and optimal cleaning properties. This TPS series also permits evacuation of pipes on the suction side – just one pump only for CIP return and product conveying. Next to CIP return application the new TPS series is used for for emptying tanks as well as for conveying products containing gas.
The benefits of the GEA Tuchenhagen®-VARIFLOW TPS series at a glance:
- Up to 69m³/h flow rate, up to 64m pump head
- Only one pump for CIP return and product
- High pump pressures allow fast cleaning procedures
- Control by frequency converter and impeller trimming is possible
- Lower noise power level / Not generally louder than a non self-priming centrifugal pump
- Very good cleaning properties / Dead space free design
- Very high efficiency of up to 44%
- Less sensitive to particles in the product flow
- Gentle product handling compared with periphery pumps
- Mechanical sealings and other wear parts are identical with TP series / Less wear parts need to be stocked
