New measuring precision: the IZMAG™

In a world driven by automation and quality management, there is no doubt that flow measurement brings added value to companies. The new IZMAG™ is an outstanding device for flow measurement. Its excellent properties include its chrome-nickel-steel design, internal calibration and very good value for money. Furthermore, flexible process integration and optional additional functions make it a convincing individual system solution.

The production of beverages and other liquid foodstuffs presents process engineers with a variety of different tasks and questions. In order to monitor and optimize the workflows during the production process, it is important to know not just whether something is flowing through a tube but, above all, how much is currently flowing through the tube.

With the new IZMAG™, GEA Diessel has succeeded in creating a device that is as easy to use as a measuring instrument, while also serving as a complex system component.

The IZMAG™ electromagnetic flow meter is fundamentally suitable for measuring the throughput and volume of all liquids with a minimum High-quality electronics and effective device construction guarantee high reliability in all standard installation situations.

Integrated monitoring methods throughout the measurement chain result in both reliable and highly accurate measurements. Their accuracy is confirmed by an OIML certificate issued by an official European body.

Process tube and measuring tube have the same diameter! This formula is used to avoid “corners and edges” that are critical to hygiene. The standard aseptic process connection fulfils all the required precautionary measures in this area.

The field housing features an attractive design and it is made exclusively from stainless steel, which means there is no corrosion that would otherwise quickly result in unhygienic and unattractive conditions at the measuring point.

A measuring device without any moving parts is a very special piece of equipment and this is what makes electromagnetic flow measurement so interesting. There is no mechanical wear. In terms of the electrical components, the use of state-of-the-art circuit elements reduces power requirements to such an extent that even operating several meters in complex process modules is energy efficient. This helps to reduce the operating costs and is also environmentally friendly.

Simple operation: during commissioning, a standard display is used to monitor the measured values and the process at all times. The design is such that, during installation, the display can always be turned so that it remains easy to read. With inaccessible installations, the standard Bluetooth interface is very expedient in order to control both the measurement data and the parameter settings of the measuring point. Parameters can, of course, also be changed in the same way.

With “separated” devices where the electronics are installed separately from the measuring tube, the throughput can even be measured at process temperatures of up to 150°C. The PFA lining is resistant to acids and alkalis and the measuring tube is designed to withstand a vacuum, even at higher temperatures. The devices measure in both flow directions.
